Two people were seriously injured in a crash Wednesday night in
Davidsonville after being ejected from a motorcycle, a county fire department
spokesman said.
Firefighters responded to the area of Davidsonville Road near Route 50 for a report of a collision, said county fire department spokesman Capt. Russ Davies.
A motorcycle with two riders, a man and woman estimated to be in their 50s, had collided on the road with a Mazda, county police said. Police said the motorcycle was traveling from Route 50, making a left turn onto Davidsonville Road. The motorcycle ran a red light and cut off the right of way for a second vehicle, Frashure said. The motorcycle struck the other vehicle, causing the motorcyclists to be ejected, Frashure said.
Both the driver and passenger of the motorcycle were transported to the R. Adam Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with injuries that were serious but not believed to be life-threatening, Davies said. They were alert and conscious when transported to the hospital, Frashure said.
