Larry Stanich, 63, a 19-year resident of Davidsonville and previously of College Park, MD, passed away on March 12, 2016 while on a skiing trip at Camelback Mountain.
Born on October 1, 1952 in Baltimore, MD, Larry graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, then earned a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from the University of Maryland and a Master's Degree in Engineering Administration from the George Washington University. He was an Advisory Engineer for Northrop Grumman for over 30 years and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Davidsonville. Larry was a talented musician. While he never read music, he taught himself to play a variety of instruments by ear. His first love was the guitar and Larry played in numerous bands ever since his high school years. Larry also enjoyed boating, skiing and scuba diving. He was a skillful builder and singularly constructed the deck on his home.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Simone Stanich; two sons, Scott and Jason Stanich of Davidsonville; and a brother, John Stanich of Elk Grove, CA.
Friends are invited to celebrate Larry's life on Saturday, March 19 from 10 a.m. until his service begins at 11 a.m. in the chapel at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W. Central Avenue, Davidsonville. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made payable to the Scott and Jason Stanich Scholarship Fund and mailed to BB&T, 80 W. Central Avenue, Edgewater, MD 21037.
