Charlene Crosley Passes Away

Charlene Louise Crosley, born December 30, 1931, passed on to be with the Lord on Friday, April 26, 2019. Her children, Rhea, Judy, and Dorr; 12 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren survive Charlene. As an only child, God endowed Charlene with an abiding appreciation for the joy of family and the importance of sharing the message and love of God with others. This appreciation was evident in the reverence with which she approached the tasks of motherhood and the honor she found in sharing God's love with her three children, twelve grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. Charlene, alongside her loving husband of 65-years, Fred E. Crosley who passed in November 2018, further spread Christ's love by delivering Gideon Bibles to those in need and by ministering to inmates in Annapolis area prisons. Charlene is remembered as a woman who did not see people's mistakes or shortcomings but instead saw others as Christ does-with kindness, grace, and a readiness to forgive. Charlene lived a life reflective of 1 Samuel 16:7 which says, "People judge by outward appearance, but the LORD looks at a person's thoughts and intentions."        Service celebrating Charlene's life will be at Grace EP in Davidsonville, MD at 2:00 pm. on Thursday May 2. Burial will be Saturday, May 4th, 2019 at the Grandview Cemetery in Sligo, PA at 11:30.

Hardesty Sentenced To 90 Days

From WinkNews.com
William Hunter Hardesty of Davidsonville,  who jumped on a state and federally protected pelican and then bragged about it on Facebook through a video, was sentenced to 90 days in the Monroe County Detention Center.
William Hardesty, 31, was found guilty of four charges April 23 in Monroe County Court.
Hardesty entered an open plea before County Court Judge Mark Wilson who found him guilty of two counts of violating the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and two counts of animal cruelty.
Lieutenant Joshua Peters with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission brought the charges after investigating after becoming aware of the Facebook postings.
Hardesty will be given 40 days credit for time served, have to pay a $1,000 find and spend a year on probation.
The video was posted to Hardesty’s Facebook page the first week of March and apparently created March 5th. It shows him at a Key West sea wall dangling food to the pelican. It then shows him jumping into the water onto the pelican and grabbing it and holding onto it. He let go only when the pelican bit him in the face.
The Facebook post of the video, met with widespread criticism, was followed by Hardesty posting he might want to eat a pelican and that he was thinking of getting a pelican tattoo.
Monroe County Circuit Court Judge Timothy Koenig issued an arrest warrant for Hardesty on March 13th and, acting on a tip, Maryland State Police arrested him on March 15th at a hotel in Ocean City, Maryland.

Rabid Raccoon In D'Ville

DAVIDSONVILLE, MD — Authorities are asking anyone who came across a rabid raccoon last week to contact the Anne Arundel County Department of Health. The raccoon was found March 30 near the intersection of Riva Road and Aisquith Farm Road in Davidsonville, and has tested positive for rabies.
If you or your pet had contact with a raccoon, or your pet has unexplained wounds, officials urge you to contact the Anne Arundel County Department of Health at 410-222-7256 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or call 443-481-3140 after business hours.
Rabies is spread by the bite or scratch of an infected animal, such as a cat, fox, raccoon or bat. It is also spread when the infected animal's saliva comes in contact with the eyes, nose, mouth or open cut of a person or another animal.
Preventive treatment might be required for anyone who handled, fed or was attacked by the raccoon. Rabies is a fatal disease, and preventive treatment (injections) must be started as soon as possible. The Department of Health warns residents not to feed wild or stray animals or leave food dishes outside. Pet owners should also keep their animals' rabies vaccinations current.
