Freshman attacker Pat Spencer
(Davidsonville/Boys' Latin) was named the Corvias Patriot League Rookie of the
Week on Monday following a pair of games in which he tallied three goals and
four assists for the Greyhounds. Spencer matched his career-high on
Saturday with four assists in Loyola's 10-9 Patriot League road win at College
of the Holy Cross. He also scored once in the first half and had four ground
balls. Earlier in the week against then-No. 11 Towson University, Spencer
posted a pair of goals along with three ground balls. He leads Loyola in points
(21), assists (13) and is second in goals scored (8). He is tied for eighth
nationally in assists per game (2.6), and his 14 assists are tied for third
overall. Spencer leads all freshmen nationally in both categories. He is tied
for second nationally among freshmen in points per game (4.2).
The award is Spencer's
second of the season. He earned the honor earlier this season after helping the
Greyhounds open the season with a win at then-No. 7 University of Virginia.
