Richard A. Burnett, Sr., 78, of Georgetown, DE passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 30, 2015.
He was a long time resident of Davidsonville, MD. He was a veteran of the United States Army and also a Shop Steward at Giant Food, Inc., belonging to the Teamsters Union #639 for over 20 years.
After retirement and settling in Georgetown, Delaware, he enjoyed working at Rehoboth Beach parking facility at Deauville Beach, DE. In his spare time he enjoyed walking and riding his bike around the neighborhood and spending time with his family.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 12:00 PM Monday July 6, 2015 at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 4111 Pennsylvania Ave, Suitland, MD 20746. Followed by a service starting at 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM also at Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends immediately following the service in the Repast room at Cedar Hill for refreshments.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 59 years, Patricia A. Burnett. Four children Richard Burnett Jr and wife Lisa Burnett, Debbie and husband Mitchell Purcell, Judy and husband Donald Jarboe, Stacy and husband Frank Owens, Jr. Nine grandchildren, Carolyn and Robert Purcell, Tiffany and Dustin Reed, Bobby, Jimmy, and Brooke Burnett, Alisha Silliman and Frank Owens III and his daughter, Kamryn Storm. One Great granddaughter Gianna Gough. And great grandchild Purcell on the way!
