South Maryland (Davidsonville) advanced to Tuesday's championship game of the District 4 all-star tournament in Little League baseball with a come-from-behind, 15-14 win over Laurel Little League.
Colin Veres scored
three times, including the winning run, after doubling home Khi McDaniels with
the tie run in the bottom of the sixth inning.
For the second straight day, Leonard Meade had three hits, including two doubles. Johnnie Belfiore went 3 for 4, scored twice, and stopped a Laurel rally with a spectacular diving catch in center field. Matt Hawes was also 3 for 4 and scored twice.
