Calvin "Hawk" George Friedrich, a 35-year resident of Davidsonville, MD and previously of Seabrook, MD died at his home on Monday, July 6, 2015. He was 90.
Born November 9, 1924 in Cottage City, MD, Calvin graduated from Bladensburg High School, where he was a star basketball player and earned the nickname "Hawkeye" for his prowess on the court. He was employed as a project manager at C&P Telephone Company. Calvin served in the U.S. Army during WWII, fighting in the Italian Campaign. His hobbies included vegetable gardening on a large scale, coin collecting, sports and spending time with his family.
Calvin was the beloved husband of the late Audrey Louise Friedrich, who died on January 24, 2014; devoted father of Brian K. Friedrich and his wife, Lynn of Edgewater, MD and Sharon F. McKenrick and her husband, S. Eyre McKenrick, Jr. of Annapolis, MD. Also survived by two grandchildren, Erich M. and Dawn M. Friedrich.
Friends may call at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Saturday, July 11 from 12pm until time of his memorial service at 1pm. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens
