Robert Suit Passes Away


     Robert O. Suit "Bobby", 83, a lifelong resident of South County, died May 9 at his residence in Birdsville.
    Born on August 28, 1929 in Birdsville to the late William and Daisey Tucker Suit, Bobby was a 1946 graduate of Southern High School.
    A sergeant in the U.S. Army, he served inOkinawa during the 
Korean War and after the war enjoyed a lifelong career with C&P Telephone Co.
    He was a member of Holy Family and Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Churches, was a charter member of the South River Ruritan Club and a member of the Davidsonville Ruritan Club. He held various positions in both clubs.
    Bobby was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Lorraine King Suit; son, Robert O. Suit, Jr. "Ros"; three brothers, Charles, Edgar and Louis Suit; three sisters, Catherine Suit, Anne O'Donovan and Frances Mariscal. He is survived by his wife, Mary Hardesty Suit; two sons, Bernie Doepkens, Jr. and Marty Doepkens, both of Harwood; two daughters, Jennifer (Timothy) Beck of Edgewater and Ruth Ann (David) Scheler of Harwood; sister, Mary Herkert of Palm Coast, FL; and three grandchildren, Tyler, Austin and Jacquelyn Beck, all of Edgewater.
    Friends are invited to Bobby's Life Celebration from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, May 13, at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home,2973 Solomons Island Rd.Edgewater. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 14 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville. Interment Davidsonville UnitedMethodistChurch Cemeteryin Davidsonville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church. An online guestbook is available at:
