Elizabeth Dove Passes Away
Elizabeth Ann Dove, age 83, joined her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, April 7th, surrounded by her loving family, at her home in Davidsonville, MD.
Born August 13th, 1934 in Norton, VA, she was the daughter of Washington and Alpha (Phipps) Burgan. She was a woman of faith and enjoyed spending time with those she loved. She was an original, founding member of Riva Trace Baptist Church and she served numerous Christian ministries throughout her time on earth. She loved playing the piano and served as pianist/organist at some of the churches she attended. She was employed by Frank's Nursery and Crafts in Edgewater, MD for several years and was a valued member of their staff. She was longtime member of TOPS Chapter #170 Birdsville, MD where she received many awards and held many leadership positions in support of the chapter. She cherished the friendships she made at TOPS throughout the years.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Arthur L. Dove, Sr. and their four children; Arthur L. Dove, Jr. (Brenda) of Davidsonville, David (Scotty) Dove and Patricia S. Wood of Denton, and Andy T. Dove, Sr. (Amy) of Chincoteague, VA: 7 grandchildren; Randy Perro (Rachel) of Denton, Ashley, Alison, and Kimberly Wood of Denton, Andy T. Dove, Jr. (Frannie) of Herndon, VA, Joshua Dove (Charisse) of Ashburn, VA, and Jacob Dove of Chincoteague, VA; 5 great grandchildren; Gavin, Graham, Gwyneth, and Gracie Perro and Elliot Fluharty, all of Denton; and sister, Phyllis Dever of Indiana. She was preceded by five siblings; Roy and Cecil Burgan, Geneva Leitch, Lucille Hicken, and Joy Bain.
Visitation will be held on Thursday April 12 from 2-4 and 7-9 at Hardesty Funeral Home, P.A., 905 Galesville Rd., Galesville, MD 20765 with a Funeral Service following on Friday April 13 at 11:00am at Riva Trace Baptist Church, 475 Central Ave, Davidsonville, MD 21035. Interment private.
