Something really exciting is happening at Davidsonville United Methodist Church! Men are shaving off their beards, but that is not the main excitement. The real thrill is DUMC will be working with various community organizations to really make a difference in our neighborhood.
On Sunday April 29th at 1 pm during an Ice Cream Social several men of our congregation will sacrifice their beards for donations. All funds received during this event will be invested back into our neighborhood. For example, we will be giving to the Edgewater Elementary School’s Good Friends Mentoring Program, the Southern High School’s Sensory Garden Project, and working to end hunger by contributing to two food pantries. Additionally, we hope to fund companion animal healthcare through the Companion Bridge organization and to assist Owensville Medical Center in becoming more accessible to all by helping to build a new entrance with a handicap accessible door.
Our dream to help these community projects will only be possible with generous contributions to Davidsonville UMC’s Buzz Off initiative. Donations can be made on a secure link on our church website at https://www.dumc.net/events/buzzoff or in person on the day of the event.
