The delicate, short-lived crocuses flowers have pushed their
heads out of the ground, if only for a brief time. That means only one thing:
Spring is almost here.
Actually,
two things. The “2018 Spring Flower Show: Gardens that Work”
opens this week at Homestead Gardens’ Davidsonville location at 743 West
Central Avenue. Homestead’s Annual Flower Show vividly illustrates how
beautiful, bountiful and sustainable gardens can work in harmony to generate
benefits leading to a healthy lifestyle and environment. Homestead’s team of
experts has created a series of colorful interconnected gardens from thousands
of flowering plants. These gardens will inspire and educate about the important
intersections between gardens which enhance our environment, health and
well-being.
You’ll
find plenty of inspiration and learn how your gardening efforts can work for
the benefit of the bay, the bees and your body as displays of a bayscape
garden, a rain garden, an edible garden, a pollinator garden and more.
The preview party is Friday
evening from 6 to 9 p.m. and the show officially opens on Saturday at 9 a.m.
