From the Capital-Gazette:
Parker Booth looking for open teammate during championship basketball season
Parker Booth of Davidsonville is a junior at Indian Creek School who seems to do everything. She balances academics,
athletics and community service in a way that few students can.
Academically,
Parker maintains a 4.08 GPA while taking AP United States History, AP Biology,
AP Language and Composition and Spanish V. She is in the STEM program, and is
focusing on the effect of varying levels of acidity on oyster shells.
Parker is a member of the National Honor Society and the
Sociedad Honoraria Hispanicá. She is also an Admission Ambassador, giving tours
to prospective families and serving as a featured speaker at open houses.
Parker
is a three-sport athlete, playing varsity field hockey, varsity lacrosse, and
varsity basketball. She played a key role in the basketball championship last
year.
Parker
recently became the founder and president of the Key Club, a national
student-led service program, at Indian Creek School. She has organized and is
leading a trip of over 20 students to Puerto Rico over spring break. Parker and
her organization will provide relief by delivering supplies, rebuilding the
community by removing debris, and working with local students in the classroom.
Parker is also the organizer and facilitator for Building Girls’ Empowerment
(BGE), an event for middle school girls that is centered on building
confidence, self-esteem and worth.
Parker takes leadership
responsibilities in all of her activities, and she is a calming, intelligent
and respected voice for her teammates and classmates.
