involved with the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life walkathon for three
years and is the captain of this year’s team. She’s also raised funds for St.
Baldrick’s, an organization that fights childhood cancer, for eight years.
Because of her passion to find a cure, she was selected as the Vice-President
of the Kids Fighting Cancer Club.
Alex is
most passionate about serving students who have special needs.
She’s
been a member of Best Buddies since 6th grade, Unified Tennis for three years, Unified Dance for one year,
and is co-captain of South River High School’s Polar Bear Plunge team. Using
her athletic talents, Alex has coached adaptive lacrosse for the Davidsonville
Athletic Association for four years, is a Youth Board Member for adaptive
lacrosse, and has coached in the Special Olympics. She’s also been a volunteer at Camp Mayo (for children with
disabilities) and has assisted at holiday parties at Central Special School.
