Pat Spencer (Davidsonville, Boys’ Latin) was
named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week after posting big numbers
for the Greyhounds in a pair of victories last week.
Spencer
totaled 16 points in wins over Towson University and College of the Holy Cross
with games seven goals and nine assists, while Lindley finished the week with
nine goals and an assist.
Spencer
opened the week with a seven-point game in the Greyhounds’ 12-8 win over Towson.
He assisted on and scored a goal in the first quarter, helping Loyola jump out
to a 3-1 lead, and he then tallied three goals and two more assists during the
second half.
On
Sunday, Spencer finished one point off his career high, scoring three times while
assisting on six; four of his assists went to Lindley against the Crusaders.
During the win, Spencer
took over possession of second in all-time points (199) and assists (122) at
Loyola in just his 39th career game. He now trails Gary Hanley (1978-81) in
both categories; Hanley had 160 assists and 311 points.
