Steven Burke has been named the Washington Wizards Community Coach of the Year. DAA and the Positive Coaching Alliance nominated Burke, highlighting his leadership and ability to represent the core values of a double-goal coach: one who teaches life lessons as well as strives to win.
Burke has been with DAA for five years, coaching both boys and girls lacrosse as well as clinic and county basketball. He is also an active participant in the Bowie hockey drill program.
Burke will receive special recognition during halftime at the Wizards’ game on Saturday, February 22.
“We thank coach Burke for all he does for our youth and for upholding DAA’s highest standards of caring for our players,” said Foran.
