South River High School came in fourth at the County Cheerleading championships on Jan. 30 which qualified them for the regionals. The other qualifiers for the regionals were Arundel, Chesapeake, Northeast and Broadneck.
These five teams competed Feb. 8 at regionals at North County High School. Regional results were: first, South River; second, Northeast; third, Chesapeake; fourth, Broadneck; and fifth, Arundel, a clean sweep by Anne Arundel County. All five move on to the State championship.
State competition will be held Feb. 18 at North County High School.
