Mary Lucille Booth, 74, of Edgewater, died at home after a lengthy illness. Born September 6, 1939 in Annapolis to Dorothy Ford Suitt and the late Vernon Ford, Sr., Mary graduated from Annapolis High School in 1957. She retired from the State of Maryland Comptroller’s office in 2002. She was an active member of Chesapeake Christian Fellowship Church in Davidsonville, was a member of the Maryland State Employees Choir and enjoyed singing in church choirs throughout her life. She also enjoyed, cooking, senior center trips and spending time with her family.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Ferd “Slim” Booth, Jr.
She is survived by one son, Timothy Booth of Edgewater; two daughters, Cindy (Ronald) Borza of Edgewater and Vicki (Kalle) Kontson of Davidsonville; one brother, Vernon Ford, Jr. of Edgewater; one sister, Dianne Lambert of Davidsonville; two grandsons, Wayne Franklin and Stephen Kontson; three granddaughters, Stacy Spadaro, Kimberly and Erica Kontson; three great-grandchildren, Anthony Franklin, Madison Franklin and Sienna Spadaro.
Friends are invited to Mary’s Life Celebration on Sunday, February 9 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD where a funeral service will be held on Monday, February 10 at 11am. Interment Hillcrest Cemetery.
