The Touchdown Club of Annapolis had their annual awards banquet. Thursday night in Annapolis.
John Mandish, of the Davidsonville Athletic Association and recipient of the Vince DePasquale Service to Youth Football Award, noted that many youngsters do not have a male role model in their lives. Mandish said he thought about that possibility every day he stepped foot on the football field and made sure he did whatever possible to mentor all his players.
“I might be the only positive male figure in these kids’ lives and I take that responsibility very seriously. I feel like it’s my job to do whatever possible to make on impact on them, to teach them life lessons through football,” he said.
