Jack Kagan Passes Away

    Jack Kagan, age 92, of Davidsonville, MD and Sewalls Point, FL died  on February 18, 2014 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a brief illness.
    Mr. Kagan was born in Boston, MA on June 26, 1921. He was an Army veteran of WW II, a leader of men, a philanthropist, a builder of companies, a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a true American original. He started working in the moving business in 1963 and went on to own Great American Forwarders in Alexandria in 1965 from which he never retired. Mr. Kagan was a member of The International Association of Movers, The Household Goods Forwarding Association, The National Defense Transportation Association and the Virginia Movers Association. He was also an avid sailor.
    Surviving are his children, Marc Alan Kagan of Annapolis, MD, Joel Richard Kagan of Orlando, FL, Roslyn (Lindy) Ann Gellenbeck of Boynton Beach, FL and Andrea Kagan Howe of Jensen Beach, FL, his grandchildren Stephanie Lenz, Bryan Gillen and John Howe, and great-grandchildren Madeline Lenz and Jackson Lenz, and his cousin Ruth Hyatt.
    Relatives and friends may call at the Hardesty Funeral Home, P.A. 12 Ridgely Avenue Annapolis, MD on Sunday, February 23, from 11 AM-1:00 PM where services will begin at 1:00 PM.
