Hubert Lee "Butch" Cave III, 59, a 40-year resident of South County, passed away on Wednesday, February 17 at the Hospice of the Chesapeake in Pasadena, MD.
Born on July 29, 1956 in Washington, DC, Butch was a 1974 graduate of DuVal High School in Lanham, MD. He was a retired sheet metal mechanic with Local 100 and also was a multi-stakes winning trainer and owner of thoroughbred racehorses.
Butch is survived by his parents, Hubert "Sonny" and Carol Cave of Davidsonville; three sisters, Diane Cave of Annapolis, Jean (Dale) Teetsell of Davidsonville and Nancy Basham of Hagerstown; a nephew, Michael Staples, Jr. and a niece, Raquel Cave.
Friends are invited to celebrate Butch's life from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Monday, February 22 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. A Memorial Mass will be offered at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, February 23 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville, MD. Inurnment Lakemont Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Hwy, Pasadena, MD 21122.
