Police are investigating a
fatal crash Monday on an entrance ramp to Route 50 in Davidsonville, the fourth
traffic death in Anne Arundel County since Saturday.
Police
said troopers in the Glen Burnie Barracks were notified about 10:40 a.m. of a
single-vehicle crash on the ramp from Davidsonville Road to eastbound Route 50.
State
and county police arrived at the scene, where they spoke to witness who
reported seeing a 2015 Lexus slowing on Davidsonville Road and then driving
erratically. The Lexus took the ramp onto eastbound Route 50, struck a curb and
then ran into a stationary barrier, police said.
The
driver, who was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics, was not immediately
identified. Police said it is not clear why the driver lost control, and the
crash remains under investigation.
Police
shut down the ramp during the investigation, and traffic was diverted to other
ramps.
