Herman Tabler Passes Away









    Herman C. "Hank" Tabler, 84, a 30-year resident of Davidsonville and previously of Oxon Hill, died September 15 at his home surrounded by family.
    Born August 5, 1929 in Buechel, KY, Hank served in the U.S. Army and then the U.S. Air Force during World War II and the Korean War. He completed 22 years of military service before retiring from the Air Force in 1966 as a Staff Sergeant. Hank worked for the U.S. Civil Service at Bolling Air Force Base until retiring again in 1976. He spent the next 22 years providing security at the Capital Centre and MCI Center.
    Hank was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Davidsonville, American Legion Post 248 in Temple Hills, the South County Senior Center and the Masonic Lodge #231 in Oxon Hill. He was an avid pool player and enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family.
    He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Regine M. Tabler; son, Stanis Tabler of Charles Town, WV; daughter, Regine Olga Klimer of Carlisle, PA; sister, Thelma Holtz of Indiana; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
    Friends are invited to Hank's Life Celebration from 2 until 4 p.m., Sunday, September 22, at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater where Hank's funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, September 23.
