Edna Marie Wilkins, 77, a 15 year resident of Gambrills and previously of Davidsonville, passed away December 28, 2016 of heart failure at her residence after a short illness.
Born in Jersey City, NJ on September 9, 1939, Edna attended the University of Maryland where she belonged to the Delta Gamma Sorority. In the 1980's-90's, she worked for Niermann-Weeks. A member of the National Honor Society, Edna enjoyed painting china, country inns, B & B's and was an avid reader. She traveled widely and twice lived in Germany and once in England.
Preceded in death by her son, Christopher, Edna is survived by her husband Mel, her husband of 56 years, and her daughter Laurie.
Visiting hours will be on Saturday, December 31 from 10AM-12noon, followed by a funeral service at noon, at Hardesty Funeral Home, 851 Annapolis Road, Gambrills. Interment will follow in Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville.
