Nobody was injured Monday night in a two-alarm house fire in
Davidsonville.
Anne
Arundel County firefighters responded shortly after 10:20 p.m. to a report of a
structure fire in the 1000 block of Ashe Street.
When
firefighters arrived, they found the garage engulfed in flames, said department
spokesman Lt. Craig Oldershaw. A second alarm was sounded.
Firefighters
were able to knock down the fire as flames spread to the attic and second
floor, Oldershaw said. The blaze was placed under control in about 20 minutes.
The home, situated along a tree-lined street about a half mile from Rutland Road, sustained extensive damage.
Two
residents home at the time of the fire made it out safely, Oldershaw said.
While the cause of the fire
was not yet known as of 11:30 p.m., investigators believe it started in the
garage, Oldershaw said.
