In Will Biddle’s new novel, “Mama's Boy” (published by Xlibris), readers follow a young man, who was raised by his single, wealthy mother, as he struggles to make it on his own in a strange city far from his home, family and friends. During this life experience, he dates three very different young women and discovers that love means a lot more than just sex.
Will Garlin, the only child of a domineering woman, does what he can to navigate through the difficult world of looking for a spouse. As he relocates from his comfortable home in Baltimore to start a new life, he encounters and dates three resoundingly different women: the beautiful, sexy and seductive Bobby Player; Evelyn Starr, who is as funny, charming and classy as she is manipulative, and Birdie, a coal miner’s daughter, brilliant, sensitive and insecure.
“There is a little of Will Garlin in all of us. His character is flawed, and some of things he does are downright shameful, but we like his honesty, forgive him for his failures, and want him to overcome the obstacles in life because we all face similar problems,” the author explains.
Although entirely fiction, Biddle draws from his personal experience and vivid imagination to create “Mama's Boy,” an entertaining narrative about a young man breaking away from his manipulative single mother and learning to live on his own. In the process he becomes a kind and generous man but not without making some serious mistakes.
