Arthur Kenneth Lohsen, 79,
of Davidsonville, passed away on April 30, 2021 after a 5-month battle with
brain cancer.
Art
was born on March 11, 1942 to Arthur & Viola Lohsen in Jersey City, New
Jersey. After graduating from Dickinson High School in 1961, he went on
to study Electrical Engineering at the Newark College of Engineering.
He
landed his first job as a project engineer for Syska & Hennessy in New York
City and worked on the 1964 World’s Fair. His career took him from New Jersey
to Maryland in 1965 and he recently retired after 34 years working for FB
Harding, Inc. In high school, he met Jo Ann Strub, his beloved wife of 56
years. They wed in 1964 and had two children, Arthur and Lynda.
Art
was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and be of service
to his friends and church. His family meant more to him than anything
else in the world, something he often mentioned. He knew he was blessed.
Art
was also a passionate about fishing and shared this love with his children and
grandchildren.
Anyone
who knew Art knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could
ask for. Art was predeceased by his mother and father. He is survived by his
wife Jo Ann, his son Arthur (Susan), daughter Lynda Duffy (Patrick), his 5
granddaughters, Viola, Caitlin, Elena, Caroline and Mia and his sister Claudia.
