A man whose vehicle crashed into a tree Saturday in Davidsonville
was trapped until rescued by Anne Arundel County firefighters. The accident was
reported just before 7 a.m. in the 300 block of Central Avenue West, Anne
Arundel County Fire Department officials said.
An Anne
Arundel County firefighter/paramedic traveling between station assignments came
across the single-vehicle accident near the intersection of Central Avenue West
and Brick Church Road. He called Anne Arundel County 9-1-1 to report the driver
was trapped and requested a Maryland State Police helicopter.
The 52-year-old male driver
and only occupant of the car was extricated by firefighters within 10 minutes,
fire officials said. The patient was flown to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma
Center. His injuries were serious, but not believed to b life-threatening,
officials said.
