Governor's Bridge Replace/Repair Options

The century-old bridge on Governor’s Bridge Road on the Anne Arundel-Prince George’s line closed in 2015 due to safety concerns and hasn’t reopened.  While narrow and not in good repair,  it has been a nice shortcut to Bowie for some Davidsonville residents.
The bridge connects the two counties over the Patuxent River, and officials are now weighing their options — will they keep things as they are now, repair the existing bridge, install a new bridge or build a second bridge?
The public has until Dec. 3 to weigh in.
Officials from Prince George’s and Anne Arundel County met last week to present information on the bridge project to the public, according to Prince George’s councilman Todd Turner. Six options were presented.
