Ag Education Day At Y Worry Farm

To promote awareness of agriculture in Anne Arundel County, Y Worry farm in Davidsonville recently hosted the 12th annual Agriculture Education Day.
This free, family friendly event was sponsored by Anne Arundel Economic Development Corp., Anne Arundel County Farm Bureau and Y Worry Farm.
“We want to keep people aware of where (their) food comes from,” said Lisa Barge, AAEDC’s agricultural marketing and development manager.
In addition to the sponsors, there were representatives from the Master Gardeners program, the Anne Arundel Soil Conservation District, Homestead Gardens, En-Tice-Ment farms and Future Farmers of America.

Retired agriculture teacher Fred Doepkins, of Davidsonville, encouraged guests to explore an interactive mobile showcase trailer. The Amazing! Maryland Agriculture Showcase travels to fairs and festivals across Maryland to teach the public about agriculture, Maryland’s largest industry.
