Charlie Winegardner, playing on his home course at Old South Country Club in Lothian, won two of the first three holes and finished with six birdies in beating Chris Navarro of Davidsonville, 4 and 3, in the championship match of the 100th Washington Metropolitan Golf Association's Amateur championship.
