From the Capital-Gazette:
Twice the heavy rains forced the
postponement of the annual Duck Races and Family Carnival,
hosted by the South County Rotary.
But, it’s time to get egg-cited: this ducky
event has been rescheduled for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.Sunday at Homestead Gardens’
festival grounds at 1935, 743 West Central Ave., Davidsonville. Let’s hope the
ducks are lucky this time.
The family carnival at the event will
include carnival games, face painting, rubber duck decoration contest, music,
magic food and refreshments.
Admission to the events are free.
Any family or individual may sponsor a duck or ducks in the races for $10
donation or more. Prizes will be awarded to the top ducks racing on a special
water course built by Homestead Gardens.
Proceeds from the Duck Races and Family
Carnival benefit the eight-year old Bountiful Backpacks program which provides
nourishing weekend food supplies to up to 150 needy elementary school children
in South Anne Arundel County, during the school year.
