A Prince George’s County man was seriously injured Sunday evening
after he crashed his motorcycle in Davidsonville.
Firefighters were called to the scene of a
one-vehicle crash in the area of Birdsville Road and Blandford Way at 8:31
p.m., said Capt. Russ Davies, spokesman for the Anne Arundel County Fire
Department.
Responders found Terrence Barry, 55, of
College Park, suffering from serious injuries after he crashed his motorcycle,
Anne Arundel police said.
The police department said that while Barry
was driving on Birdsville Road, he lost control of his vehicle, hit a curb and
was thrown off the motorcycle. Police said alcohol may have also been a
contributing factor.
A Maryland State Police helicopter
landed at Davidsonville Elementary School and took the man to the University of
Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore to be treated for his injuries.Davies said the man is expected to survive.
