So far this year the Spay Spa & Neuter Nook, 1251 West
Central Ave. in Davidsonville, has spayed and neutered more than 6,000 dogs,
cats, bunnies and guinea pigs. But there are still a lot of animals out there
that need help. For September, they hope everyone will spay or neuter their
pets as part of going back to school.
Neuter
costs (depending on weight) for male dogs are $75 and up; male cats are $40.
Spay costs for female dogs (depending on weight) are $85 and up; female cats
are $55.
And they
will spay/neuter, give rabies vaccinations and ear tip feral, stray and
community cats for $35.
They also
seek volunteers, age 18 and older, at the spay/neuter clinic to help prepare
surgical instruments for sterilization and help monitor patients after surgery,
and to help answer phones, take appointments, and give information to
prospective clients.
Volunteer
for as little as four hours per week. Volunteers are needed between 8 a.m. and
3 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays.
