Jean Elizabeth Tydings, a 15-year resident of Riva and previously of Davidsonville and Hyattsville, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017.
Jeanie was 69.Jeanie was born on December 1, 1947 in Cheverly, MD to the late Edward and Gwendolyn Clark McManus. She was a 1965 graduate of Northwestern High School. Jeanie worked as a secretary and administrative assistant for the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) until she retired in 1999. Her interests included spending time with her family, reading, and she was an avid Washington Capitals fan.
She is survived by her daughter Jennifer Mobley of Edgewater; former husband and friend Brian Mills of Edgewater, step-sons; Andy Tydings of Mechanicsville, Kevin Tydings of South Carolina and Frank Tydings of Davidsonville, her siblings; Jacqueline Fraber of Crofton and the late Jerry McManus, and her niece; Christina Fraber. Also survived by 10 grandchildren; Jackson, Andie Marie, Elijah, Joshua, Michael, Cameron, Rachel, Frankie, Allie and Katie.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jean's life on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 1pm until 4pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD 21037. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA of Anne Arundel County, 1815 Bay Ridge Avenue, Annapolis, MD 21403 or to Rude Ranch Animal Rescue, 3200 Ivy Way, Harwood, MD 20776.
