Jon Hudgins Passes Away
Jon Forest Hudgins of Davidsonville, Maryland died on Friday, September 9, 2016 at the age of 75.
Jon was born on February 8th 1941 in Fayetteville, NC to Guy Douglas Hudgins of Beaufort, NC and Hazel Farris White of LaGrange, NC. Jon served his country honorably in the US Navy from Sept 1960 to Aug 1964 where he was fortunate to tour the Pacific Ocean with places like the Philippines, Japan, and Vietnam. He shared a lifelong love of the water including sailing, fishing, and boating with his children, brother, and those he knew, and that tradition lives on with his children and grandchildren. He particularly enjoyed spending his time in Swansboro or out on the Chesapeake Bay. Some may say his love for the water was genetic as he is a descendant of a long line of mariners, whalers, seafarers, and coastguardsmen from Swansboro, Beaufort, and Diamond City, NC.
Jon is survived by his eldest son Jon Todd Hudgins and wife Tracy with their children Jon Tyler, Taylor Nicole and Tristina Leigh Hudgins of Queenstown, MD; and his youngest son Robert G. Hudgins and wife Christi of Davidsonville, MD. He is also survived by his brother Hugh Douglas Hudgins and wife Colette of Cary, NC. ; His former wife Barbara Ann DeVore of Crofton, MD; and fiancée Lynn Pitman of Swansboro, NC.
A celebration of Jon's life will be take place at a future date and will be published on robertevansfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The National Parkinson Foundation - Parkinson.org. Reflecting upon the waters Of the deep blue sea... Our dreams become boundless, And our Souls set free.
