Jean Hastings Anderson, 91, of Davidsonville, MD passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2016, at her home.
Born September 10, 1925, dear, sweet Jean was a strong, loving and faithful woman, devoted to her God and family. She loved to cook, can, paint, sew and do all things for her family and friends. Memories of her nurturing, insight and wonderful sense of humor are treasured by all who loved her. Preceded in death by her parents, Linwood and Olive Reynolds Hastings; siblings and their spouses, Linwood (Lois), Donald (Agnes), Virginia (William); her husband of 64 years, Arthur; her daughter, Kathleen (Walter) Larrimore and her son-in-law Michael Mishou. Survived by her brother, Bob; her children, Marilyn Mishou and Jess (Laura) Anderson; her grandchildren, Amy Galloway, Brett (Kristi) Larrimore, Molly (Andrew) Watt, Jessica Blickenstaff, Evan (Jessica Jo), Katelyn and Will, as well as 10 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and dear friends. We are pained to see her go and blessed to have had her so long. She is now with our Lord and we rejoice.
Friends are invited to celebrate Jean's life from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, September 19, at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. A graveside service and burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 20 at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, MD, followed by a Resurrection Service at 11:30 a.m. at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 122 Bayard Rd., Lothian, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, Philanthropy Department, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122.
