From the Capital Gazette:
The 12th annual Annapolis Book Festival was held on Sat. But, there were other activities besides books. Some of the panel discussions were recorded by C-SPAN for a larger viewing audience. But not all the topics were somber. There was a cooking demonstration on Maryland seafood, and discussions of children's books and baseball in Baltimore.
Ronja Mielke of Davidsonville came for books, not talk. The annual festival, now in its 13th year at The Key School, features a sale with row after row of new and used tomes.
With unwieldy stacks of books in both hands, Mielke was trying to peer at another one before they all toppled over.
Mielke said she is originally from Germany, but has been living in Davidsonville with a host family whose children she watches. She brought them along to the festival Saturday.
"I love books, I love to read," Mielke said. "It's perfect for me."
