Letty Wotring Passes Away


    Letty Mae (Hutchinson) Wotring died peacefully at home in Heritage Harbour on February 27, 2022.
    She was born August 5, 1930 at her maternal grandparents home in Cumberland, MD to Lyman and Nellie (Sullivan) Hutchinson. Her father's employment resulted in Letty attending 34 schools across the United States before she graduated from Allegany High School, Cumberland, MD in 1948. She attended Radford College and later graduated from Catherman's Business School in Cumberland.
    Letty married Myron V. Wotring at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Cumberland, on July 26, 1950. While Myron was in the Air Force they were stationed at Andrews AFB and at Andersen AFB on the island of Guam. She and Myron lived in Frostburg, MD for four years while Myron completed his teacher's degree. Moving to Anne Arundel County in 1958 Letty raised her two children before entering the working world. Her career of 26 years with Anne Arundel Public Schools included ten years as a secretary at Davidsonville Elementary School and sixteen years in the Property Control unit at Riva Road headquarters, retiring in 1992.
     A loving mother and devoted wife, Letty leaves to mourn her husband, Myron, a son, John S. Wotring and a daughter Lisa R. Borgeson (Paul). She had four grandchildren: Leslie Amman (Steve), Nicholas Borgeson (Katie), Jillian Johnson (CJ), and Sean Wotring. The light of Letty's life was her five great grandchildren: Kaylee Tomlin, Olivia and Sophie Ammann, and Benjamin and Nathaniel Borgeson.
    A memorial gathering will be held at Lasting Tributes in Annapolis on Friday, March 11, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 pm. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Anglican Church in Crownsville, MD on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 1:00pm. Inurnment will be private.
