Don Covington Passes Away
Donald Phillips "Don" Covington, 79, a 40-year resident of Davidsonville and previously of Annapolis, MD, passed away on November 14, 2019.
Born on January 17, 1940 in Annapolis to the late Frances and Donald Covington, Sr., Don was the founder of Covington Machine and Welding in Annapolis. His expertise was primarily in drawbridge and fixed bridge repairs, he worked on most of the bridges in Maryland as well as surrounding states. Don was a machinist at heart but proficient in many areas. The outdoors was his true home and he was a member of several hunting clubs.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Nancy Forsythe Covington; three sons, Guy Covington of Centreville, MD, Brian Covington of Davidsonville and Donnie (Tiffany) Covington of Lothian, MD; one daughter, Jill (John) Frick of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his 12 lb. rescue dog and protector, Scooter. The Covington family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Anne Arundel Medical Center for the compassionate care given to Don in his final days. We are deeply grateful.
All services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Don's memory to the Salvation Army. Online condolences may be offered at: KalasFuneralHomes.com
