Farm Bureau Gets New Ex. Dir.

DAVIDSONVILLE — The Maryland Farm Bureau board of directors has named John Torres as the organization’s new executive director, effective mid-July.
He will be relocating from Columbus, Ohio to Maryland.
Torres succeeds Valerie Connelly, who held the position since 2013. She has accepted a job as vice president of government affairs and public relations for Choptank Electric Cooperative.
As executive director of the Maryland Farm Bureau, Torres will serve as the chief executive of the statewide organization and lead efforts to advance its mission to protect and grow Maryland agriculture and preserve rural life.
