From the Capital-Gazette:
For over 200 years, Tilden Farm has been part of the
agricultural life of south county. It started as a working farm before
transitioning into a nursery.
It was
shuttered for about a year until new owners took over recently. The nursery
reopened under new management and with a slight name change from Tilden Lawn
Nursery to Tilden Farm Nursery. The focus is now balanced between retail and
wholesale plants and landscaping materials.
The
nursery business was started in 1978, growing trees in their fields and
expanding as the business grew with greenhouses and more materials for sale. In
2016, the owners retired and sold the property, which sat unused.
The new owners reopened in
September 2017, just in time for the end of the growing season. This spring the
nursery’s plans are taking root and it is growing, adding more plants and
materials. There are a lot more details in the complete article at: http://www.capitalgazette.com/neighborhoods/ac-cm-south-county-0512-story.html
