From Fox 5 News
DAVIDSONVILLE, Md. - A collision between a tractor
trailer and a vehicle caused major delays Tuesday night on a highway in Anne
Arundel County.
The tractor trailer was involved in a
crash with another vehicle on the eastbound lanes of U.S. Route 50 east of
Route 301 in Davidsonville at around 8:15 p.m., Maryland State Police
say.
Two of the three eastbound lanes were shut
down as first responders worked to transport victims to the hospital and for
the investigation of the crash.
Dashcam video obtained by FOX 5 from Rhys Robinson of Express
Carrier Services shows the tractor trailer traveling in the left lane of the
highway when it attempts to change lanes into the middle lane where a white
sedan was already traveling alongside it. The white vehicle ends up losing
control and crashes into the tractor trailer causing the large vehicle to
overturn. The sedan would end up crashing into a barrier on the right shoulder.
Police say some of the victims
suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Their condition is unknown at this
time.
Major backups were seen on Route 50 and drivers
were being advised to avoid the area.
