From the Capital Gazette:
Flanked by several Anne Arundel County Republicans, Davidsonville resident Sam Faddis
announced Monday he will seek the congressional seat in District 5.
He's
one of four candidates making their future political plans known this week.
Faddis
is attempting to beat longtime Democratic U.S. Rep. Steny Hoyer, who has held the seat since 1981. The district
covers five Maryland counties: Calvert, Charles, St. Mary's and parts of Prince
George's and Anne Arundel, including Bowie and Crofton.
State
Sen. Ed Reilly, R-Crofton, led the Faddis event, where County Executive Steve
Schuh also spoke.
Del. Nic Kipke,
R-Pasadena, and Council Chairman Jerry Walker, R-Crofton, attended, as well as
Michelle Corkadel and Jonathan Boniface, who are both running for County
Council in areas that include the congressional district.
