Virginia Thompson Passes Away

      Virginia Grace (Miller) Thompson of Edgewater, 83, passed April 10, 2016 at Light House Senior Living of Alzheimer's disease. 
       She was a former instructional assistant with the Montgomery County school system for 20 years and a volunteer assistant at Edgewater Elementary School. Mrs. Thompson was born in Washington, D.C. and was a fifth generation Washingtonian. She was a lifelong resident of the Silver Spring- Wheaton area before moving to Edgewater, MD in 1989. Mrs. Thompson attended the Academy of the Holy Names in Silver Spring and earned her associates degree in Education from Montgomery College. Her hobbies included bridge, sewing, crafts and her school alumni association.
       She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Davidsonville.
       Her beloved "Jack" passed before her on March 4, 2015. Mrs. Thompson is survived by her four children; Ralph L. of Edgewater MD, Karen A. of Cockeysville, MD (Jeff Fisher), Russell F. of Gaithersburg, MD (Marilla), Robert J. of Shelby, N.C. (Marchel), nine grandchildren; Jessica Jordan, Allison Grace Nagy, Katherine Thompson, Laura Thompson, Rebecca Thompson, Emma Thompson, R.J. Thompson, Caroline Thompson, Claire Virginia Thompson. A brother Franc Miller, Ellicott City, MD (Rachel), two sisters; Dorothy Farquhar Ellicott City, MD and Marilyn Plymale, Moneta, VA.              Family and friends may gather at the family owned and operated CANDLE LIGHT FUNERAL HOME by Craig Witzke at 
 1835 Frederick Rd, Catonsville, MD 21228  on Tuesday, 4-7pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, 10am at St. Paul's Catholic Church of Ellicott City. Interment private
