Robert William "Bob" Barber, Sr., 78, died May 2 at his home in Davidsonville.
Born on March 3, 1936 in Annapolis to the late Kendall Barber Sr. and Frances Barber, Bob was a graduate of Annapolis High School. He founded and retired from R.W. Barber and Sons building contractors. He also served in the U.S. Navy Reserves. Bob was a member of the Annapolis Elks and Annapolis Moose Lodge. He enjoyed music, dancing and spending time with his family.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Paula E. Barber, who died in 2007 and son, Benjamin D. Barber, who died in 2010. He is survived by four sons, Robert W. Barber, Jr. of Lothian, Paul K. Barber of St. Petersburg, FL, William R. Barber of Edgewater and David M. Barber of Davidsonville; daughter, Robin M. Barber of LaPlata; eight grandchildren, Robert W. Barber III and William R. Barber of Dunkirk, William R. Barber, Jr. and Daniel M., Jenni N., and Grace N. Barber of Edgewater, Courtney Barber of Largo, FL and Tara L. Barber of Davidsonville; and four great-grandchildren.
