Karen Smith Dies In Local Accident

    Karen Smith,49, of Annapolis, died May 16 in Davidsonville due to a car accident on westbound Rt. 50 at Davidsonville Road.
    Born August 29, 1964 in Norfolk, Virginiato Wesley and Shirley (Jones) Bartnick, Karen attended Parkdale High School and the University of Maryland. She then married Thomas Matthew Smith and they had three children.
    She was employed as a paralegalfor Hillman, Brown, and Darrow in Annapolis for 18 years.
    In addition to her husband, Karen was preceded in death by her daughter, Courtney Smith. In addition to her parents, she is survived two children Christina Smith and Thomas Smith; three step-children, Shawn Smith, Ashley Lott and Abbey Ludeau; and three brothers, Billy, Butch, and Bobby Bartnick.
    Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday May 22, at Mt Zion Methodist Church in Lothian,with Pastor Bill Herche officiating.Interment will follow at Southern Memorial Gardens in Dunkirk. To leave condolences visit www.rauschfuneralhomes.com.
