DES Celebrates EGATE Win

Education officials from Anne Arundel County Public Schools and the Maryland State Department of Education visited Davidsonville Elementary on Wednesday, May 14 to celebrate the school’s award for Excellence in Gifted and Talented Education (EGATE).  They  observed teachers and students in the classroom and met with representatives from the school’s Chess, Engineering, Sea PERCH and Robotics club.
In February, Davidsonville, along with Central Elementary  and Folger McKinsey were recognized by the Maryland State Department of Education with the EGATE award.  Only 30 schools across nine school districts have received the EGATE distinction since its inception in 2010.
