The South River Volleyball Club (SRVC) is a competitive volleyball program for girls. Their athletes have the opportunity to train and compete at the local and regional level. SRVC's goal is to provide a solid foundation of fundamentals and promote advanced competitive skill development to achieve excellence in volleyball.
Coach Ernie Siegrist is the Director and principal founder of South River Volleyball Club. Ernie started playing competitive volleyball with adult teams in CHRVA. He launched the Davidsonville Athletic Association (DAA) volleyball program which has been growing steadily for more than 10 years. He worked with the Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation & Parks to start the youth recreational volleyball program in Anne Arundel County. Five organizations participated in the inaugural season in 2009. The County program has grown to eight organizations with more projected. Coach Ernie is IMPACT certified.
An all around athlete, his primary sport was football. He played Division II football at East Stroudsburg University. He was a member of the 1982 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Champions that were honored with the Lambert Plaque as the top Division II team in the East and the East Coast Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division II Team of the Year. He personally earned Academic All-American 1st Team, All-American 2nd Team, All-ECAC Team and PSAC 1st Team honors. He also had a tryout for the NFL with the Cleveland Browns in 1985.
