John Matthew Miller Sr., 77, a lifelong resident of Davidsonville, died October 11 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. He was the son of the late Peter J. Miller and F. Ruth Owen Miller.
Mr. Miller retired from the family business of Millers Auto Service of Davidson-ville. He was a lifelong member of the Holy Family Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Civil Air Patrol and the David-sonville Ruritan. He enjoyed his memories of flying his plane with his father, going to his beach house, keeping his lawn immaculate, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, John Miller Jr. and sister, Helen Wright. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Barbara Moreland Miller; daughter, Judi Jones; son-in-law, Woody Jones; daughter-in-law, Susan Miller; three brothers, Peter Miller, George Miller and James Miller, two sisters, Frances Rockemann and Catherine Laster; and three grandchildren, David Miller, Valorie Miller and A.J. Jones.
Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at the Hardesty Funeral Home, P.A., 905 Galesville Road, Galesville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10 a.m., Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville. Interment Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery, Owensville.
