Margaret Matters Passes Away

    MARGARET (PEGGY) CLEMMER MATTERS, 85, of Davidsonville and  formerly of Glen Burnie Park, passed away June 1, 2013 in Columbia, MD quietly after a long illness.
    Friends may attend the family viewing at Singleton Funeral Home of Glen Burnie on Crain Highway, June 6 at 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church 826 West Central Ave., Davidsonville, MD on June 7th at I PM. Burial will follow at Lakemont Cemetery Davidsonville, MD alongside her husband and best friend Harold Paul Matters Jr. who predeceased her.      
    Peggy was born in Washington, DC to George and Eunice Clemmer on March, 11, 1928.
    She is preceded in death by one brother Leonard Rubel Clemmer.
    She attended McKinley Technical High School of Washington, DC and graduated in 1947. After graduation, she attended the Washington School for Secretaries and worked until 1954 with the Department of Labor before resigning to raise her family. She later returned to work in the 1970's for the Anne Arundel County Department of Education.
    Peggy is survived by five children and spouses: Stephen R. & Peggy Matters of Severna Park, James R. & Aida Matters of Ridgley, John H. & Lourdes Matters of Memphis Tennessee, Thomas W. & Bryony Matters of Fairfax Va. and Margaret M. & David Love of Severna Park, her youngest child Anne M. Thompson preceded her in October, 1991. Anne had one son Trevor Thompson.She also leaves behind nine grandchildren Nicole O'Rourke, Stephen Matters Jr, Justin and Ashley Matters, Elizabeth and Nicholas Love, Trevor Thompson, Regina Dizon and Lindsey Alcoser-Matters; four great grandchildren Nicholas Jr. and Anthony Love, Bella and Logan Matters.
    She enjoyed spending time with family and friends filled will lots of love and laughter. Mom, words cannot express how much your love and support will be missed. We will all miss you dearly. Thank you for always being there. We all were blessed with such loving and supportive parents. You and Dad are united once again.
